Recco has been supplying furnaces to industry for 60 years. Today this brand is merged with Keith and is bring marketed under the Keith label. Enjoy the benefits that our tradition of quality and service can mean to you!
So choose a size of electrically heated general purpose bench top furnace best suited for your heat processing needs. Your new Keith furnace will be easy to install and operate. Then, just set your desired process temperature and the digital controller will heat and control your furnace automatically. Maximum operating temperature for this model of furnace is 2250 F.
Applications for this style of furnace include metal heat treating, hardening, drawing, ceramics firing and decorating, wax burn-out, copper enameling, mold heating, crucible melting of non-ferrous metals, ashing, assaying, and many more uses too numerous to list here. These are durable, quality furnaces intended for industrial, laboratory and hobby use.
This group of furnaces are insulated with thermal efficient material for cost and energy efficient operation. +/- 10°F temperature uniformity may be achieved with coiled wire heating elements mounted in the interior side walls, and for larger furnaces heaters may also be mounted in the floor, door or backwall. Furnace controls are mounted on a front panel for convenient access and viewing. A counter-weighted door rises vertically and effortlessly while keeping the door's hot face safely away from the furnace operator.
If your work requires a larger size of furnace, direct you to our next website page for Keith's econo line of floor standing furnaces.

Special Features
- Simple and safe operation
- Automatic temperature control
- Uniform and precise heating control
- Easy installation and maintenance
- Spare parts from stock
Heating Elements
In the smaller models, heavy coiled wire heating elements are installed in grooved refractory plates, which slip into grooves in the refractory lining. The plates protect the heating elements from damage while loading and unloading the furnace and provide exceptional support for the elements for long element life. In larger furnaces, the heating elements are installed in grooves within the ceramic fiber lining.
Controls
All furnace controls are conveniently located in a base mounted control cabinet at a level where they are easy to view and operate. Solid-state digital indicating PID temperature controllers are used for the most precise control of temperature. All controllers are equipped with broken thermocouple protection.
Protection from Oxidation
Several approaches are available when parts need to be protected from oxygen. The easiest method is to wrap your parts in stainless steel heat-treating foil. A small amount of paper or charcoal can be included to consume the oxygen in the package. Likewise, you can place your parts into an alloy box containing paper or charcoal. Another approach is to insert an atmosphere of argon or nitrogen into the furnace with our optional inert atmosphere package. This eliminates most of the oxygen in the furnace, and is suitable for processing many grades of alloy.
