At the heart of the Keith PCD tool bit processing system is a programmable logic controller (PLC) that automatically manages temperature and motion control functions.
All process and motion parameters for each bit can be entered as a recipe into the control system, and then replicated at the touch of a button. There are many control, data logging, and reporting options, which can meet most any requirement.
- Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller
- PanelView operator interface
- PLC and operator interface mounted in NEMA enclosure
- Temperatures and motion events are PLC controlled
- Discrete backup temperature controls provided for safety
- Independent overtemperature protection is standard
- System includes high-quality proximity sensors and switches, optical encoders, timers, and other I/O devices
- Programming includes PLC software, as well as customized PanelView interface and reporting screens
- Includes Ethernet connectivity

OPERATION MODES
Fully Automatic: User loads a mold assembly on the preheat table, selects a recipe in the control system, and initiates the automatic process.
Manual PLC Mode: Enables all motion operations to be activated by user prompts through the operator interface panel. Temperature control is still managed by the PLC.
Manual Mode: For emergency, testing, or maintenance use. Motion control switches to local pushbuttons, and temperature control functions revert to discrete controllers.
