Keith manufactures coiled wire heating element systems and distributes both silicone carbide (SiC) and molybdenum disilicide (Moly D) heating elements for leading manufacturers.

We can supply replacement heating elements for virtually any make or model of furnace or kiln. The following overview describes the basic types of heating elements available from Keith.

Coiled wire heating elements

  • can be used to temperatures ranging from 300 F to as high as 2400 F.
  • can be mounted on a variety of ceramic element holders.
  • are easy to install.
  • can provide years of useful service life.
  • can be used with the most economical power control systems.
  • do not significantly change in resistance over the life of the element.

Silicon carbide heating elements

  • can be used to temperatures ranging from 1800 F to as high as 3000 F.
  • can be installed horizontally or vertically with no additional support.
  • are easy to install.
  • can provide years of useful service life.
  • do not bend, and remain rigid at all operating temperatures.
  • can have very high-power density in a limited space for faster heating rates.

Molybdenum disilicide heating elements:

  • can be used to temperatures ranging from 1200 F to as high as 3300 F.
  • are most often installed vertically with no additional support.
  • can provide years of useful service life.
  • can be used in a wide range of atmospheres, subject to design limits.
  • do not significantly change in resistance over the life of the element.
  • can have very high-power density in a limited space for faster heating rates.
