The Watlow F4T is a powerful and intuitive temperature controller with data logging capabilities built for demanding industrial furnace and oven applications. Its high-definition, four-line LCD display simplifies setup and operation, giving operators clear visibility into each stage of the process.
With advanced PID control and an autotune feature, the F4T ensures precise, consistent temperature regulation—even across complex thermal cycles. Ideal for sophisticated ramp-and-soak processes, it can store up to 40 unique heat treat profiles with a total of 256 programmable steps, making it the go-to solution for labs, aerospace, or any operation that requires tight, complicated thermal processing.
The F4T is also capable of integrating with safety features such as event alarms and over-temperature protection, making it both powerful and dependable.
Data Logging Capabilities:
Process Data Logging: What sets the F4T apart from the F4 is the ability to log data. It can automatically record key process parameters (such as setpoints, actual temperature readings, and output percentages) at user-selectable intervals (from 0.1 seconds up to 60 minutes). These readings are stored in the controller’s internal memory as data log files (in CSV format) and can be exported via a USB flash drive or over Ethernet for analysis.
Trend Charting: The controller features built-in graphical trend charts on its 4.3-inch touch screen for real-time data visualization. Users can monitor up to four parameter trends simultaneously with color-coded traces and legends, and even capture snapshots of the trend charts to save (e.g. to a USB drive) for later review.
EventTracking: The F4T also tracks important events – for example, when a profile step is reached, an alarm or limit condition is triggered, or a sensor input error occurs – and it can alert users via email or text when such events happen. This provides an easy way to review event history and receive immediate notifications for critical events.
5 Segment, Heat Treatment Profile Example: An operator can program the F4 controller to ramp the furnace up to 1500° F at 10° F per minute – Hold (Soak) at that temperature for 45 minutes - then ramp up to 1700° at 2° F per minute- Hold (Soak) for 6 hours – then end the profile.
The operator can keep that heat profile stored in the memory files to repeat this cycle with the touch of a few buttons making it very simple for workers to use each day.
